    howto fix shell32.dll


    system details Sony Vaio
    model:sve15111fdw

    i have windows 8 64bit.and i have remove the shell32.dll file in c:\windows\system32,
    my system cannot log on ,that has been giving the error msg..already i have repair the system using windows installation cd but it doesn't work and system restore. how to fix in cmd. pls somebody help me .what will i do?

    At the cmd prompt, you can try to copy the shell32.dll file from the installation disc to your hard drive installation.

    (Replace X with your actual drive letters)

    X:\

    xcopy X:\windows\system32\shell32.dll C:\windows\system32

    I had install the third party software(ios 6 skin pack).after uninstalled didn't remove completely. that is to say folder icon(black color) desktop shorcut didn't remove. so I search the internet ,that has give this step do so.so I had to remove the system file shell32.dll.
    could you tell how to fix in cmd using windows installation cd ?
    please give the steps clearly?

    There's a clear tutorial given in the second post, please follow it. With Command Prompt from the Windows installation DVD, just enter the command given in the third post.

    Be careful reading things on the Internet, only follow instructions from reputable forums and blogs like this one. The person clearly didn't know what they were doing, if they thought it was okay to remove system files.
