Display problems, cannot see Taskbar-not hiding!

I have windows 7 pro 64 bit Lenovo laptop. The taskbar is out of view unles you put it at top. The time and the rest of the icons are not fitting on the screen, I have done a reinstall and it is the same. The display settings and all of that are at the default. What would cause this !!!?

Sounds like your resolution is set wrong for the video card or taskbar set to autohide, if you hover mouse over bottom of screen does it come up?

Ok, thanks....how do you fix that? Everything in resolution and dispalay are at default settings, nothing has been touched and the monitor driver is up to date.

No, it isn't out in sight and isn't set to auto hide. Also, if you open an explorer window and drag to the bottom of the screen it feels like it goes allllllll the way down, until you cannot see the page at all any longer

Can you provide a screenshot of display settings? If you don't know how, press the prt scr button while in the settings, then open paint and press ctrl+v and save it as a pic the upload here.

You laptop has a 23 inch screen or do you have a monitor hooked up to it? If you have a monitor hooked up, you need to input the monitors resolution, not the laptops, which is 1366x768 by the way. A 23 inch monitor, if its high def will have something like 1280x800 or 1920x1080, you need to post the model and name of your monitor if you have it hooked up via your vga or hdmi port.

There is nothing attached to the laptop and never has been. The whole screen is off, even as I am doiong a clean install. The "setup is starting" is almost out of view it is so low on the screen

sounds like your lcd is messed up and telling the gpu the wrong x-y coordinates for its area, that's odd. if you go into your bios does it show up correctly or off as well? your resolution should be 1366x768 and the installer might be off since that is low resolution for event the installer i think. but your lcd should still auto adjust somewhat.
