Dim screen outside of current active window

Good evening!
Is there a software that enables the us to automatically darken the rest of the screen and just focus on the current active window?
I googled and found nothing, except for Kino, but it's hard to use.

Hello ej8989 and welcome to the Forums,

From your link alone I have found both CinemaDrape and Universal DarkRoom. From reading the entries I'd say that the latter one is the most user friendly.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Nommy

I tried both but they still require users to manually select a portion of the screen to be focused on.

Isn't that good?
I downloaded CinemaDrape to test it for myself, and you can use it by simply creating a selection with your left mouse button and then that selection will be the viewable area.

Do you want that or a program that automatically selects the program that you want viewable instead of manually needing to make the selection?

That, or a program that automatically dims everything out except for the current active window/program that i'm on (if exists)

Hmm, sorry but I currently do not know any software that does that.
The only software that I know does the same as these; it allows you to create a viewable selection but doesn't use your mouse pointer as a guide to which windows to dim.

You might want to run a search in our Software subforum though, there might be something hidden there.

Open Excel workbook in active window rather than first window
Hi, I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010 and though I'm starting to get used to all the changes there is one thing which is really bugging me. When I have two separate Excel windows open and open an Excel file from Windows Explorer the file will open in the first window not...

Dual screen centers the active window
Hi everyone, I'm working on deploying Windows 7 Pro into my office and one of the problems I've come across is that, when a window opens on a dual screen system it opens centered on the two screens. This leaves one half of the window on one screen and half on the other screen. While this...

New applications opening under current window
I don't know quite how to describe this problem other than saying that when I open a new window (office, or any other software), it will open up but appear underneath whatever other window I have focused already. This is especially annoying because it doesn't seem to have been doing this prior to...
