Exactly what the title says. Can I run 64-bit Windows 7 with only 1.5 GB of RAM? The minimum system specs on Microsoft's website are 2 GB for 64-bit, but I'm not sure if that's recommended or required. I'm getting Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $30 USD, so I want to know if I can use 64-bit vs 32-bit.
I already know that none of the printers I have work with Windows 7, but that's fine. All my other hardware is covered.
It probably will fun in 1.5 on 64bit but why would you want to. You eill not reap any benifits from running 64bit and in fact it will run much slower in 1.5 t han the 32bit would. I will bet we can get the printers running as well
Hmm... Well, the most I ever do at one time is, on a really busy night, of homework, 2-3 word docs, an excel spreadsheet, a pdf possibly, foobar2000 for music, and 3-4 firefox tabs. I figure I should be ok. Plus, I use Rainmeter... uses less RAM than gadgets. :P
I see no benefit at all to using 64-bit based on what you are trying to run.

- chkdsk /r on source and destination - both drives are fine
- using a 500gig external drive with 330gig free & a 1 TB drive...
Hello.
The C drive in my computer is 139 GB (150 GB hard drive).
Windows shows that there is 45.5 GB free, but if I select the contents of the drive and check the properties, it says that everything on the drive is taking up 70.8 GB on the disk.
But in doing the math (139-70.8 = 68.2) it looks...
Hello all, first poster here. I am sorry if this has been posted before but I took a quick scan through various threads and couldn't find a solution for my problem. I recently upgraded from windows XP to windows 7. While in XP I had 2.4 gigs of RAM shown, I have 4 gigs. After I upgraded to windows...
Greetings
After a bit of fun today I got Windows 7 loaded to my system, upgraded from XP. I was running 2gb of Adata ram and everything was running just fine. Then I decided to install the two Corsair XMS 2gb sticks that I just bought last week. I reboot and I get to the Starting Windows screen...
