Need explanation of Windows folders and files structure
If I type the file name in the search function>click on properties>open file location it takes me to the folder and file I'm looking for c://Users/Myname/Documents. If I manually go to computer/c://users/myname/missing folder! (only 'My Documents' - and the file isn't in there - no 'Documents' folder which is where the file is) but the file path is the same. Where is the documents folder?
I found an extra 'Users' folder within 'Users' - c://Users/Users/Myname/Documents - folder which does have 'Documents' folder in it (I have no idea where that extra 'Users' folder came from as I don't remember seeing it before), but not the file I'm looking for that is in the other 'Documents' folder I found through search function. I don't get it.
If I go directly to Libraries/Documents the file isn't in there either.
The main thing is I know where the file is so I can access it if needed, but it really bugs me that I can't follow in my head where it really is!
Here's the other thing that's driving me nuts. I'm in the folder called My Documents looking for a file and i don't see it, but if I use the search function for that page it locates it in that folder. In other words, I can access the file through the search function, but I can't physically see it when I directly open that folder to find it.
