Hazuzi once the registry has been messed up and a restore point doesn't bring help
I would recommend just doing a fresh clean install.

Well thats actually what i want to avoid at all costs because i would need to install at least 50 pieces of software after that even if they are still there and only the registry entries are not there because of the reinstall of windows itself, or can i backup the entire registry and reinstate that backup so that all entries of all software are in the registry again?? and of course no entries are deleted or edited so that search works again.
