93 files corrupted or missing from Registry

My registry went corrupted after a windows update in August of 2013. I tried to do sfc /scannow, stopped at 11% and didn't work. I tired to open services that also didn't work. I also tried to do a system restore, i did one restore and it wiped out my other restore points. I still have 93 files corrupted or missing from my registry.

I don't know what to do know. I really do not want to take it to a technician or re install windows 7. I have windows 7 home premium 64x OEM, No i do not have the recovery CD or the OS CD.

Since system restore acts strangely and since you have a lot of problems ... I advise you to do a repair install. You have a valid license key (see COA sticker most likely on back of laptop/desktop)?

Stop downloading and running Registry fix and PC speed-up programs.
They do nothing but corrupt the Windows 7 Registry and most likely included key loggers and/or adware.

I concur with Kaktussoft. Try a repair install first. Once you're up and running, run your AV scan.

OEM disc and retail Windows 7 install DVD are actually the same (not exactly). It's the product key that's the problem. An OEM key may be used only on 1 pc.... most of the time used to install Windows 7 when you buy a laptop with Windows 7 preinstalled.

Just do Repair Install
and post back results
