In Vista, when I got a UAC prompt, all I had to do was to click "Allow", but in 7, I have to type in a username and password, and that sucks!
How would I roll this out on a network? What would I have to do, give everyone the admin password, or sit around all day and hold their hands?
There must be a way to get back to the old behaviour without sacrificing security. Any ideas?
you can change uac settings...type uac in the search box
Changing the UAC settings is not recommended for a corporate environment ... It is another layer of safety between the user and the ne're do wells of the internet....

I don't want to disable UAC, I just want it to stop asking me for a username and password.
Maybe its different because I have a server and a domain? I am an administrator on the domain, and I added my network user account to the local administrators group, still same crap.
I think you UAC is set to strict.
There is a slider to tune it down.
Set it to the second position from the top.
This is how:
Go to control panel and then to useraccounts
In the right pane chose change settings for useraccount (or something similar, I'm on dutch OS)
You will see the slider.
My guess it's at the top most position.
Slide it down to the second postition from the top.

UAC in general does not bother me, I just can't stand entering my admin username and password again and again.
Sounds to me like your Local Security Policy is set to Prompt for credentials for some reason. Can you confirm that you have Local Security Policy in your Administrative Tools? Just search for it from the Search Box.
Either that, or you're running as a standard user.
If you have it, I'll tell you how to change this. If you don't, I'll just do a little trip down Google lane and tell you how to change it.
