Windows 7: My computer keeps freezing and hdd led stays solid

I'm new around here, sorry if something appears to be wrong.

My computer has been giving me problems from long time ago.

Few months ago I was playing League of Legends like usual, it never gave problems, and it freezed completely, hdd led turning solid.

That does not only happen by playing, it happens too when I'm browsing with Chrome or using Skype, generally any application.

Before the freeze, the sound did a weird loop for 1 second, and then kept playing, but the system freezed around 1 minute later.

I can still move the mouse cursor when it happens, windows turn white when I try to click on them and eventually the mouse freezes too and all I can do is force a shutdown.

I'm really looking for a solution around here, hope you can help me.

If you need more information about something tell me.

    Sometimes KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) can create high CPU levels which causes system performance issues. Visit the following link for more information;

Thanks, I'll check it out, but I'm pretty sure it isn't the actual problem.

I had kaspersky for the last month, got it because a technician told me to do so.

I always get avast, and the problem remained the same.

if the system freezes like that; that could also mean one or more files are possibly corrupt. Not necessairily windows files per say but the files for the game itself; something could have corrupted one or more game files causing the system to freeze. (someone correct me if i am totally off here but i am pretty sure this could be a possible cause)

Now that you mentioned, I remembered something that maybe is crucial for the problem.

When it freezes, and I instantly reset it, it says BOOTMGR image file is corrupt.

But if I let it rest for like 30 mins, it starts up normally.

Well, another possibility believe it or not since you said if you let it rest for 30 mins it starts up normally; is a possibility of bad ram in 1 or more module. Bad ram will cause instability and windows and or program freezes. A way to check for bad ram is take all of the ram modules in your system out; then put them back in one at a time; and if at any point the system freezes again; that could very well be your problem right there. Either way good luck with it and see if that helps to pinpoint the problem

    Do the following:

    1. Click Start
    2. In the search box, type cmd
    3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
    4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Report the output from the command window once it finishes.

More detail: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Bootmgr is a windows system file and if it says its corrupt then that could be the problem all by itself. If I could tell ya how to extract that one file from the windows disc I would
But I can't recall off hand how to do that from the disk as it's been quite awhile since I've had to do that.
