windows failed to start mvs91xx.sys missing or corrupt.

This happened after I re-installed drivers for a marvell add in sata 6 card. I booted into another OS and replaced the file in the drivers folder but it did the same. Is there any way I can remedy this situation without doing a repair install?

    win7x64 gigabyte x58a-ud5 v1. SSD is samsung evo 840.

solved... booted to win 8 on a different drive and after trying several versions of that missing file with no success one file finally got it to boot by dropping it into windows/system32/drivers
