Administrator can't access Documents and Settings folder

I'm the only user on my computer, so I log in as the administrator. When I click on "Documents and settings" folder I get an error message "access denied". If I right click and choose properties I see I don't access to the security settings.

If I log off or choose switch user, there's only one user available, which is me, the administrator. The way I prefer to use my computer is to auto logon, so it opens up to the desktop and not some logon screen. I would prefer to keep the one user and somehow give me access privileges to everything on my computer. I really don't like all the hyper security, I prefer more like XP, where I can do anything I want. Since I have C drive images if things get fouled up I can always revert to an earlier image.

How can I give myself all access and bypass this security?

You don't need access to that folder and other folders like that. They are not really folders, they are sort of like shortcuts to be used by older programs that are looking for the old folder structure.

You only see these folders because you (or someone) told the operating system to show hidden stuff.

If you were to force security changes on C:\Documents and Settings it would just lead you to C:\Users.

Ok, you're right. I was importing presets for XP and that's where they were stored. I ran into the same problem trying to access Documents and Settings from Users and that one a ghost also. Now I've found where Win 7 stores the presets in Users and restored them and all is fine.
