    Corrupt system file need help

I run AVG AntiVirus 2014 on my computer and it detected a threat that it could not remove. The object name is C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\dump_iaStor.sys
Since my antivirus could not remove it I tried doing a system restore, but windows states that the system restore failed because of a corrupt system file. Unfortunately I do not have back up discs for my Windows 7 home premium. My laptop is an HP ProBook 4530s.
I'm not concerned with saving the data on my laptop exactly, I would rather save the computer itself.
    Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the forums Conor255!

Have you tried running a sfc/scannow to look for and possibly repair corrupt system files? We have many excellent tutorials here at the forums, heres one on how to do that if you haven't before, just click on the link : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Hope this helps
