    A laptop BIOS password is a security feature. Unlike in a desktop, such a password is not stored in the CMOS and cannot be cleared by removing the CMOS battery or any other simple method. If the password were easily removed it would serve no useful purpose. Only the manufacturer can help and only after proof of ownership.

    Well LMiller7 said it better than I did. Prof of ownership is absolutely one of Dells requirements.

Help! locked myself out

I am not very experienced in computers. But was trying to set up our computer to have a password upon startup, instead of booting all the way up w/internet access. Unfortunately, i did not write the username down and did set a password so that I'm now locked out...What can I do now?
Just did a clean install of W7. I have admin priveledges. My user name is William. I own this computer and I want access to all folders and files. However, I find many folders I get an access denied. What can I do to get access to everything?

I locked the keys in the car. I turned the administrator account to inactive after reducing the only other windows account to standard and when I try to run anything as administrator it doesn't give me a place to put in the administrator password. how can I fix this?
