    after upgrading to windows ultimate i have a system :K?


    after upgrading to windows ultimate i have a system :K half full but when i open it theres nothing in it? any ideas? kinda scared to just delete it what should i do? also cant deleate windows.old because i need permission i apparently dont have... i downloaded a program that when i right click i can "take ownership of" but its still not working.. any help there also?

    If your system is from a manufacturer then I imagine you're saying a recovery partition that you did not destroy just prior to the upgrade of Windows Ultimate.
    Go in to Disk Management. Right click Computer > Manage > Disk Management in the pane on the left-hand side, which is underneath Storage.
    You'll see there are a few disks, and they're likely numbered. Disk 0, for example, might have a few partitions, and one of those partitions might correspond to K: which is the partition that you're referring to which is half full.
    You can use this menu to remove the letter association. Just right click on it in the pane towards the middle top and I'm sure you'll be able to follow from there. Should be harmless.

    Do not delete the partition because it is most likely crucial to your OS and I can't say so for sure that it is safe to remove. Could you take a screenshot of your Disk Management screen just to be sure?

    If you want to delete your Windows.old, you'll need to boot in to Safe Mode and take ownership of it there.
