You need to take a look at what you're doing that's letting Trojans in, and be more cautious. Watch downloads like a hawk for sneakware checkboxes or tricks, watch browser Add-ons like a hawk for anything except Flash, Run regular scans with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, maybe weekly if you're that prone to infection. If you still get infected install the Trial version of MBAM then after 30 days buy it for 29.95 for life. It won't let anything bad in no matter what you do unless you turn it off.

@Greg.....Turned out it was Java before it became evident its system was vulnerably holed. The infections stopped after deleting Java. Unfortunately, each time I babysat, my grandson would re-install it to enable 3D high speed games.

Fortunately, it seems Java has finally rectified itself.

I don't install Java any longer unless it's requested by a program, which rarely happens.

Speaking of Java....I wonder if problems with W7's failure to install driver to a peripheral Bluetooth device has something to do with my not having Java. Or even the HP Media Smart live TV and Internet TV programs not working. Do these programs(both from Cyberlink) need Java?

The peripheral BT device issue is possibly W7's unique problem and the Media Smart issues maybe Cyberlink's.

Other than these two current problems, this newly acquired old used cheap Pavilion dv7-2173cl is working awesomely, way beyond my expectation. (I still cannot get over its mint condition exterior...what a treat from this e-bay seller.)

So far, one first week with W7, I still think Vista is better than W7...So far.

So now I have created System Image to a 500GB external HD. About 20GB data were installed. So...what will I do with the 480GB free space left in it?

And why can't it be utilized to speed boost my system?
