Odd recycle bin!

Hello.

As mentioned above, an odd looking 'recycle bin' has shown up. The sub-folder name, is just a series of rectangles. I can't gain access to it despite 'admin', and I cannot delete it. I'm attaching two snippets here: 1st is the folder (in Explorer), the second is the 'error' message when I try to access or delete. I use an external hard drive for backup, and have used it for 2+ years. This recycle bin only popped up in the last 3 weeks. 'Properties' doesn't tell much either. Thanks in advance for any information offered.
