    Startup problem - moved

When my computer is booting up at the Windows 7 picture it looks like it is becoming unstable almost if it is looking for the installation disk. Within seconds it passes this process and then boots up normally. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any thoughts on how to fix or correct?

Not sure what you mean by becoming unstable, please give us more details of your problem.

It's hard to describe. As the computer is booting it reaches a point where the windows 7 logo comes up. At this point the logo breaks up into small horizontal lines. It doesn't last long and then the system boots up normally.

    Hi ibilofsky

Between the Flag logo and the main login screen the start-up routine checks for any second monitors and the like, you may want to load the latest video drivers for your graphics card, from the manufacturers site, and see if this clears this issue.
There is a registry tweak to skip this detection (can't place it on the forum at the moment but search the threads about speeding up start-up), this may also help (if you don't have two monitors, of course ).

    hope this helps

    Hi ibilofsky,

This may be worth looking at.

    Hope it helps

Vista and now 7 in 32 and 64 bit.

I am not sure but I think that tutorial is only for Vista. On my installation of 7, TMM is not shown. I believe it it one of the hidden tricks Microsoft have used to make an impressive boot up time.
I don't think ibilovski need be too concerned if he is booting normally. It is probably just a glitch in the grahic card drivers which, hopefully, will be remedied in future releases.

    Hi davehc,

You may right about hidden tricks - I was just providing the link to what Barman 58 mentioned.

I just checked mine - it does not appear to be set up by default on 7, as it is on Vista.

Although, I still find my (heavily modified) Vista starts up a lot quicker than 7.

I am also curious about the apparently lower ram usage and hd activity - could be superfetch has been made to work better , or it could just be fetching less.

Graphic card drivers are the other thing Nigel suggested.

Ibilofsky may find the recent drivers from his card manufacturer's site solve the issue.

    Hi guys,

Tried everything that has been suggested but nothing has controlled my return to the horizontal line. I am working with the best drivers for my graphics card as well. I appreciate the suggestions.
