    On-screen output corruption

Can anyone advise me, please, why some print I see on screen is corrupted as per the attached example? Hard copy does not seem to suffer. If pictures suffer similarly, I do not know, but I suspect it would be harder to detect.

Monitor is Dell ST2210, should that be relevant.

Quick Q - any other graphical corruption noticed elsewhere? Outside of FireFox? Not images, but text. ie Windows itself. Move a window, see corruption?

    Hi rundwald,

Kindly copy paste this text to word or notepad and check if the issue occurs. This would isolate if it is an issue with the particular application or video related.

Make sure video cable is properly connected on the system and if possible check it with a different cable as well.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

    @SandeepP
Output of Word document is OK and Video cable is secure. I am using HDMI cable ( white connectors) and have nothing except a DVI (blue connectors). Is that any use for a retest?

Try the dvi cable and see if the issue keeps occurring. If not, its a bad hdmi cable.

DVI cable connected, the sample screen I attached now looks OK, so it looks like the HDMI one is going.

Before I shell out, could there be any other cause of the corruption?

It's defiantly the cable if the corruption is gone.

Don't shell out. HDMI cables are all the same. If your paying more then $10, your getting ripped off.

    Monoprice: HDMI Cables - Monoprice.com

Bought several from them. Work fantastic.

I'm a Brit, so even 20 Bolivian boliviano would be shelling out.
I have a confession to make. I got my cables wrong. The white is DVI-D single link and the blue is VGA (HD15). I am a silly so and so.(at self).

So you were on the vga and then switched to dvi? ok that makes sense now.

After reading the part in the Article where he says hdmi cables ether work or they dont, i started wondering. As with the picture issue you had it would be more likely vga but yeah.

DVi originally when fault showed, and now VGA.
