Hello Andrea,

If you are logged in to an administrator account, you should be able to simply copy and paste the files say on your desktop into the "C:\Windows\System32" folder. When you do, you will get a prompt to approve copying them into the folder.

You will not be able to directly copy the files from an external source into a system folder.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Are you getting this error when trying to register the file?

If so, do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows?

If you have 64-bit, then execute regsvr32 from \SysWOW64 instead.

EX: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\system32\msdxm.ocx.

32-bit should use this below then. Notice the location that the .ocx file is in.

EX: C:\Windows\system32\regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\system32\msdxm.ocx.

Hi, yes I'm trying to register dlls and ocx files and it will not let me register or copy files over to my system 32 folder. I keep getting this message when trying to register ocx and dll files. And why Im trying this is because one of my visual basic program uses they dlls and ocx files.

The Module "C:\job\msdxm.ocx
was loaded but the call DLLRegisterServer failed with error
code 0x80020009.

What happens when you try to copy the files into your system32 folder from your desktop?

Are you logged in to an administrator account?
