    This program is blocked by group policy, for more information contact


    Yesterday I opened utorrent and it worked OK. Today when I try to open utorrent I get :
    (This program is blocked by group policy, for more information contact Systems Administrator).

    I found this with Event Viewer. Access to C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe has been restricted by your Administrator by location with policy rule {15544135-be10-4b3a-8652-ae990acb9f44} placed on path C:\Users\Ray\AppData\Roaming\*\*.exe. I looked at Group Policy Editor but I cant see anything. This is a home computer and I am logged in as Administrator.

    Welcome to the forum, hopefully im not helping you out so you can go and download illegal software or movies ect..

    As an administrator
    firstly click start and try run;
    In the dialogue box type CMD and press enter;
    then in the box type gpedit.msc and hit enter;
    double click windows settings;
    then click software restrictions and policies;
    Then in that section change your user profile to basic user, as default it should be set as disallowed.

    Try this:

    Local Group Policy - Reset to Default

    Also scan your machine for malware with your antivirus and something like malwarebytes which you can find in my signature.

    Hello Spuds, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    In addition, double check to see if it may have been restricted using AppLocker. You can check by seeing if there are any rules that may have been created for it. If so, then you could either delete the rule, or change it to "allow".

    I tried the Bat file but I still get the blocked program message. There are no restrictions in Applocker. Looked in event viewer and I see:

    Okay, lets continue.

    1.) You followed the tutorial and you stated the batch file did not work. Could you try method one and see if that option works?

    2.) Could you also try creating a new ADMIN user account and see if the issue occurs there as well?

    Just a suggestion.
    Run another log because the posted log has been altered.
    From the log post #8.
    I ran Malwarebytes and restarted computer. Utorrent started but when I closed Utorrent and tried to restart it I got the error msg.
    It would also be helpful to see complete System Specs.
