    Possible Product Key Mess

I have downloaded and installed Windows 7 Home. This was downloaded from Microsoft. Stupidly, meanwhile I bought Windows 7 Home so I have a Product Key. However, the copy I have bought is Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. Can I use this key for my non-Service Pack 1 installation. Really don't want to do it all again?

If its a genuine retail licence to be used on the same computer, yes, no problem.

Why do you want this new Product key at all. Does your current installation come without a key ?

If yes, just update your current installation to SP1 - just to be sure and because you should be up-to-date anyhow. But the OEM key should work either way.

It's probably for this downgrade in their other thread.
