    No Entry in MSCONFIG > Boot


    Hello,
    I have no entries in the Msconfig > Boot section. I started computer for the day and after logging in, it stopped apparently, with no waiting indication. I then looked in Msconfig. About five months ago I got this or a very similar problem after playing around with the system. Finally had to do full reinstall.
    Also noted in that the 100mb system reserved area is now showing 100% Free? See next

    Did complete AV/Malwarebytes/non resident Superantispyware/sfc /scannow and chkdsk in safe mode with network. Other than my AV/Malwarebytes/Secunia and my UPC app, everything else is turned off in Msconfig prior to issue as well as now. Hang up in startup has not returned in the last two days.
    Appreciate any assistance.

    If you have not already, you might see if running a startup repair at boot may be able to help.

Boot entry missing

I just went to msconfig to check that all my cores were enabled and there is NO boot entry there so I can't access anything on the boot tab (See attachment) What can I do about this please. Andy
I previously used MSConfig and selected the Boot tab "Advanced Options" to change the number of cores allocated to Windows, now I cannot open the Advanced Options at all. The selection is not grayed out so it should be accessable. Basically nothing under the Boot tab can be modified, the other tabs...
Rename boot entry?

Iv tried multiple times with Easybcd to rename a boot entry with no success. On easy bcd, it shows up as the name I want but It doesnt under the bootloader. I want to rename it from Symantic Recovery Environment Location=W:\boot.wim to Windows 7 PreInstallation Environment

I found a tutorial for dual booting linux but still use the windows boot loader. But the issue is that it was for xp and back then all you had to do was goto sartup and recovery and hit "edit" but now Microsoft decided they want to make things more difficult.
