    Add-Remove, problem

When I tried to uninstall a program, Revouninstaller could not see the program (addintools.com "Classic Toolbar for Excel 2010")
The only option was to use Control Panel > Add Remove Programs. (ARP)
The program was listed in ARP but not in Revouninstaller.
    PC specs:
    Win7 x64
    MS Office 2010 x32-bit
    • I believe free Revouninstaller only "sees" 32-bit (?), but I assumed with Office as 32-bit classic-toolbar would also be 32-bit)
    • maybe a lesson in letting the moths out of my wallet and buy Revouninstaller Pro
Used ARP to uninstall, but at finish an alert (I did not capture the message) because I assumed CCleaner would detect dead files.

Words to the effect:- some "items" will have to be removed manually ... (not a lot of help!)

"C:\Program Files\Classic Toolbar" folder is gone.
But CCleaner produced a list of dead entries, but not any (that I can see) for ClassicToolbar/addintools

    log ccleaner 2014-01-30.txt

    Two questions:
    1. CCleaner, looks like most of the items are .lnk (links) in a temp folder
Can the ~temp~.lnk entries be removed
CCleaner only does a blanket clean, I know "exceptions" can be set
I am considering copying the log to Excel and using code to loop through the list and evaluate .lnk files.

    2. I assume the only other housekeeping is the registry ?

Would appreciate your thoughts or suggestions, thank you :)

I quit using Revo after I saw it overreach and ruin the OS a few times. CCleaner's registry cleaner algorithm is more advanced and has no documented cases of failure.

But what we've learned from five years experience now is that Win7 really does a sufficient job of uninstalls using Control Panel>Programs and Features. I am not in any rush to use CCleaner after that, and may run it twice a year along with Puran Boot Time defragger to get at System files.

Just got access to "the" PC with Excel and copied tab deliemited TXT file to a worksheet.

I should have looked more closely at the 800+ list items. They are a mixture of many file types.
I have never had such a huge list with CCleaner on any PC. And the Excel PC is not and has never been internet connected.

It looks like the list needs to be more diligently "considered"

    Thanks Greg, :)
Our posts crossed over ... 800+ items is a lot in my experience.

So could I trust CCleaner to do the blanket clean ? The target PC has not had much attention for 15 months.
I like a clean "house" and am prepared to attend to each item

    Regards :)

I trust CCleaner as I've never seen a documented case of it causing any problems. It does annoy some when it makes them sign back into all their websites, but there are bad cookies hiding in with the good ones.
