Question?? To ALL..

About My Recovery Partition on my HP..Notebook.

Can I just get rid of that partition since I will be doing a Clean Install of Windows 7 Professional Full. (I have the Recovery Disks I Burned them to DVD's)

and they work used them before.. (but the Recovery partition was there)

Would that work..and If I need to go back to Vista (Don't think I will but things happen) Would I be able to go back to Vista with the Recovery Disks only...

I have tried looking for this.. I can't find it any were..

My Guess is YES am I wrong?

Do not delete the partition, unless you are completely sure you will never need your repair disks. The repair disks access that partition.

Go ahead and delete it, since you burned the recovery DVD's theres no real need for the partition unless you think you may lose/break the DVD's.

Either way, if something goes wrong and your under warranty just call HP and ask for a copy of the DVD's. Say your recovery partition got corrupted (worked for me).

I have also confirmed that you can Delete the Recovery Partition when you install Windows 7..(BUT MUST HAVE THE RECOVERY DISKS IF YOU WANTED TO GO BACK TO PREVIOUS OS)

NOT true. Repair disks from HP are replicas of that partition. They DO NOT access it. In fact, they will recreate it if it is removed. If the OP has created repair disks and is confident they are good, he may in fact remove the recovery partition with no issues. I have 3 HP laptops and know this for a fact.

Oh, yes. I forgot about the recreation of the recovery partition.

Okay, I understand. I was thinking of the Acer recovery partition. I apologize for the misinformation.
