Recovery Mode as an OS boot option

I remember the days of Windows 2000 and XP where you could install the Windows Recovery Console as a separate OS by using the command winnt32.exe /cmdcons. This would allow you to boot into the Recovery Console without having to load your CD. Obviously the Recovery Console was removed in Vista and 7, and was replaced with the Recovery Mode. I want to know if there's a way to do this with the Windows 7 Recovery Mode. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not sure I understand the question, XP was before my time.

Have you tried F8 on the advanced boot menu? Advanced Boot Options

Yeah, it only shows Safe Mode and all the other standard F8 menu stuff, but no Recovery Mode option.

It should say Repair my computer.

If it isn't there you can add it in .

Couple of ways to do that.

    Firts try :

    elevated cmd prompt

    reagentc /disable

    reagentc /enable

If it errors, you can add it in manually.

Show hidden and os folders ( in folder options)

Look for a folder called recovery\longnumber

    In there should a winre.wim.

    Open an elevated cmd prompt

    reagentc /setreimage /path driveletter:\Recovery\longnumber /target c:\windows

    press enter

    reagentc /enable

    press enter
