How do I completely wipe a computer?

Hey, so I'm currently in the process of selling my computer and I want to delete everything from it, however I do no have the Windows CD which came with it as I received the computer as a gift a few years ago. I understand that you can download a licensed program on the windows website which replaces the need for a CD but I do not understand the process you must follow.

If someone could be as kind as to walk me through the steps of completely wiping the computer I'd be forever grateful.

Welcome to the forum,

I think these tutorials will explain everything you need,

Windows 7 Installation - Prepare PC to be Sold

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

You will need to be able to read the COA sticker on your computer,

Links for official installation media is in the second tutorial.
