Installation of New OS may be unstable.

In a prior thread the titled
"So I upgraded from Vista, Now What", located in General Discussion

the writer indicated that he had experience working with computers and would never install a new OS on his own computer, because within 6-9 months he would have to reinstall, due to instablity caused by the new installation. I would really like the opinion of other members, before I install 7. Thanks

That's not what I said. I said I would never upgrade an OS and would ALWAYS do a new install over an upgrade. Then I simply stated that Microsoft OS's get bogged down over time, but they seem to be getting better at it.

He is talking about doing an upgrade of one OS to another (Vista->7)

This is generally not reccomended due to the chance of instability because of the fact that it is an upgrade...

Unless absolutely necessary to upgrade...always do a clean install
