g'day on my machine all is good if a want to create a well used icon on the desk top, just drag icon at left of url and place it on desktop, but wife has a machine where win 7 won't allow, her version is win7 home premium, maybe 12 months old.
how can we create desktop icons please?

Have you tried using an add-on for sending shortcuts to desktop in Firefox. Works well. Sorry not to be able to help with the actual problem.

You will see it in the add-on section in firefox, Tools>add-ons and you will see it in the extensions tab. To use, you go to File and in the menu you will see save link as file and away ya go from there.

when I was kid we lived west of brassy between Ipswich and brassy, we had about 6 families living in the near by trees I think about 20 or so birds. not so many where we are now
