Files from Windows 7 and Vista to XP...is it possible?

I am NOT happy with 7! If I were to reformat my drive and install XP, would my backup files from Vista and 7 be usable?

Thanks,
Dennis

I did some research but I couldn't get a clear straight answer...so for now I am going to say no

I would backup your data manually (without a tool)...that way it will be a simple copy->paste of the data back on your XP install

I accidenty erased (through ignorance) a great deal of Vista files from Win 7 Ultimate (64 bit) using an early version of Auslogic's Duplicate File Finder. Is Vista an important component of Win 7?
