Delete Folder Content Software

Looking to delete content of a folder but want to keep the folder. I have to do this often for a flight simulator program. I cannot simply overwrite to files in to folder. So, I just would just like to do something like right click and empty the folder content but keep the folder. I googled and see how to go into my registry ,but wish not to do it that way. Is there software. Thanks..as usual.

You could likely write a batch file to do that.

Can you tell us what you do next after the folder is empty? We can probably help you create the batch file if you tell us the folder involved and what happens next after the folder is empty. (e.g. do you copy new files from somewhere?)

I just found an answer. I now have an option when I right click I have an option to empty folder content. It was added to my registry. When the folder in question is empty,I then add ie. new scenery colors or textures . Another example is often a developer provides another color or texture to replace the one I have,so I delete the folder content and add the new one. Hope I am making sense. You can see this by going to x plane forums . This is all related to flight simulation. See under scenery for example how new textures,etc are added. Thanks for your help. The only thing I don't like is that you better not make a mistake or it is gone forever. It doesn't go to the recycle bin. It just goes. Say I wanted to remove option this from my registry..how would I do that Thanks. Chuck

Did the flight sim software add this "empty directory" to your registry? If not, then how did it get there? Knowing how it got there helps us know how to help you get it out of there.

Here is how I would go what you are doing:
put the files to be added into a "from folder"
copy a batch file (that we will write) to that "from folder"
run that batch file


You can keep as many "from folders" as you have room for. You can switch back to any old one by double clicking on the batch file in the old "from folder" of interest.

Manually create a restore point and then edit the registry as desired.

If you do not feel comfortable editing the registry manually, I might be able to create a reg file that you can merge to undo what the other reg file added. However, I'm on a computer that cannot open RAR files. So, I would need you to right click on the reg file that you used to add the info to your registry and send that file to a Compressed (zipped) folder. Then upload that zipped file to your next post.
