    Corrupt profile Win7

Hey all... new to the forums!

Having a big issue, well i think its big... i have a family members laptop, it has 1 user, it was password protected... i'm unable to access this profile as it says the username/pass don't match (they do). I've tried various programs that are supposed to get rid of the password (Ophcrack says there is no p/w)... still can't gain access.

Safe mode also requires p/w... there's no additional users/profile/accts/whatever to access anything... is there a way to gain access to this account again or is it gonna need a fresh O/S install?

    Thanks for the help!

You will have to do a clean install. First you need to use another os to save the docs: Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS
Then do a clean install: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 Skip to 6 then 8. Or just go to this if retail: Clean Install Windows 7 Note that for retail, you may need a new product key.

Enable the hidden Administrator account from WinRE (Install DVD/flash).
Boot to Safe Mode and login as Administrator.
    Change/remove password from normal account.
Reboot and test. If still no good boot to Safe Mode and login as Administratior again.
Create a new account. Copy everything except a few files from the old to the new account.

thanks for the help.... maybe i'm missing something here though, when trying to access WinRE it asks me for a user/pass combo before getting to the WinRe screen, of course i can't access this because it keeps saying the user name/pass is incorrect... guessing i missed a step somewhere?

Enable the hidden Administrator account from WinRE.
Login as Administrator and use Control Panel / User Accounts for remove or change the password.
