    Windows 7 SP1 download.Which one do I take


    I need to download Windows 7 SP1. When I get to Microsoft to download, there are 10 downloads listed. Which one do I take?

    Are you doing a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

    Don`t think you can download Windows 7 from the Microsoft site.

    Where are you downloading from? Is it from here? Windows 7 Direct Download Links, Official Disk Images from Digital River

    If so, you want the ones from the 2nd group, that have SP1 U (media refresh) in the name. You also need to get the one that matches what you already have, Home Premium, Profe4ssional or Ultimate and X86 (32 bit) or X64 (64 bit).

    My computer was upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Lately, I reinstalled it again and now, I have occasion to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 in order to upgrade from Internet Explorer 8 to Eleven which worked well on this computer before. So, when I go to the microsoft website to downloads to download windows 7 Service Pack 1, I get these 10 selections to pick one download from. None of them mention 32 bit which is what my O/S is. The microsoft number applied to this is KB976932 which is mentioned in only three of the selections which are the last three of the 10.

    What version do you have? Is it Win7 Home Premium x86 SP1 English Official ISO download?
    That would be the latest 32 bit Home Premium installation media.

    Follow carefully the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 especially about doing all of your Important and Optional Updates which would have delivered SP1 long ago.

    You don`t have to reinstall windows to install Internet Explorer 11, just use windows update.

    You do need SP1 to upgrade to IE11. That's what he's asking about, which SP1 should he download.

    You can get it here: Download Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center

    though you can also get it by doing several Windows Updates. At some point it will offer SP1.
