How to save IE9 to desktop for later install?

    Hi
how can I save IE9 from microsoft to my desktop?

I go to MS download page and I save setup utility 34.6mb to desktop then I clik it and it only says "run" no choice to save IE9 to desktop.

I am thinking IE9 is pretty big maybe 700MB so how can I save it to desktop for later install?
Any page links and help would be appreciated

    Welcome to the forum,

I'm a little confused, you're asking how to save it to the desktop but then said you did do that.

This link downloads for me, so I could save it for later,

Download Internet Explorer 9 from Official Microsoft Download Center

    Thank you for reply.
The "setup utility" isnt the complete IE9, it asks to run then it installs IE9, wont let you save it instead.
I think IE9 in its totality is about 700meg in size.
The link you gave is same page I go to, it will let you save the utility, but not the compleate IE9

That's all I could find was that download, the same question has been asked multiple times but I can't find a full offline installer.

The download you have can be moved or saved and used later, but it does want to download the rest of it.

when I clicked iE win7 x64 link I saved the 34.4mb stand alone package to desktop.
Cliked on it and got this-

"installer encountered an error, the service cannot be started , either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
I didnt know this was asked before, and why its so difficult to get full IE9 saved.

thank you for trying anyways, thanks derek also.

Internet explorer isn't like a traditional program,
It's built into windows besides you may already have it installed,
Please state why you need to install this at a later time,
What is the issue your seeing that you need this option,
Are you attempting to replace ie9 or somehow fix existing files ?
    Cheers.

I have IE8 and I think its on the win7 cd, not sure. I am going to do a clean install of win7 soon.
The reason I want IE9 saved is I dont have a fast/reliable internet connection to install it to my PC from a website.
Install from disc is better as I am concerned about lost internet connection issues halfway through the install of IE9.
    thanks for the help
