Vaio SA 290x - Brightness gone.

I want first to say that I've spent like 10 hours in this thing trying to fix it. Everything I could think off I've done. OnScreen Brightness is stuck at 1 step or 0 step. It onyl moves between those. I get no brightness increase no matter what. I have no brightness settings in Windows Power Options. I've used the cleanup utility to remove all the video drivers and installed fresh Sony official driver for my Vaio form the website and it doesn't fix the problem. I've reinstalled all the sony stuff, control center, shared tools, etc, with no effect. I believe what caused the problem is i've tried the new 8.1 driver for my vaio model, since there's like years after the last video uptade for this model. All the install went smooth but after the restart nothing changes, the drivers stay the same revision. And brightness don't work no mather what. Since there's a know problem with 8.1 and brightness I believe the fact that I've tried to install that also corrupted my brightness. Complete format and win reinstall is out of question. I want to fix this. Any help is welcome. thanks.

Have you tried restoring the laptop to an earlier point before you installed the driver ?

The restore feature of windows NEVER worked for me. I don't know why but it only stores one single restore point, which is generally not the one I want. My dissatisfaction with the restore feature is like 10 years old.

This is the case in this regard.
