Just installed seven. Have a few questions.

Ive been using the build 7100 beta for about 4 months now, and finally brought 7 ultimate today.

I have a few questions regarding windows 7. The first being, i was dual booting windows 7 beta with vista, as my laptop has 3 hard drives. Windows 7 will not let me format my vista drive.

Secondly, i would like to make another user account on the laptop for a family member, how can i control what they have access to, and the ammount of hard drive space they have?

Finally i have noticed windows now appear almost instantly after clicking them on the bottom bar, i liked the how the windows seemed more fluid when appearing in the beta 7100. Has this been completely removed or can i edit it somehow?

    thanks alot, lewis.

    Hi and welcome to sevenforums

1-which drive is the first one on the drive (ie on the left)?

2-New user account is easy. You can restrict access easily by making the account either a standard user, or a guest. Disk space limits are a little more complicated to do.

    3 Edit preferences.

Let us know if you need help with any of this stuff

Thanks for your reply, if i understood your first question, i believe its on the d drive. I think it wont format due to the previous dual boot setup, could you clarify please.

Lewis, how are you trying to format the old vista partition? inside of windows management or via the install disk?
My previous experience was that i must make the format in windows via the disc management then afterwards insert the windows installation disc and boot threw as a normal install until you come to the the partition selection then use the erase/format option, reboot then your done

This was the method that worked for me but may not be the method for every case
