My windows 7 used to work fine, however it has started to refuse to open files, the open save etc box comes up ok at the bottom, but when I click on open it doesn't, my e-mail is orange fs mail, when I click on to open mail it won't. I have checked for virus malware etc and it all comes up clean, I have reinstalled adobe but this didn't work, can anyone help, many thanks in anticipation. P

If you like, you could do a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before this started to hopefully and fix this for you.

There is a possibility that the file association(s) has been corrupted...I wouldn't be able to diagnose the cause, but try running System File Checker. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Should it show no problems, you could try re-associating file types. See the following;
Default File Type Associations - Restore
