Hi, I am looking for a Linux distro which is similar to windows,
comments appreciated.

Have a look here. Download the PDF from my Skydrive. It gives you hours of tutorials and demos of the 2 easiest Linux distros for Windows users - Mint Mate and Zorin. It also shows you how to set it up without disturbing your Windows installation.

In the longer run you will probably be happier with Mint Mate. Zorin is a nice little system and it comes ready made out of the box. It has some restrictions though and is also a little buggy.

Mint Mate is a much more powerful system and with the tutorials I provide, it should be a breeze to nicely set it up in an hour or two.

There are some other Mint versions but they are on a different base (Gnome 3) which I do not like. It gives you less installation options.
