Are you trying to install to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums and used Rufus as specified in Option One to create a UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows. If so did you boot the flash stick specifically as a UEFI device?

If no UEFI, use Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool which tutorial also provides the latest official ISO file for your licensed version.

I would also change from AVG which is bloatware now, to Microsoft Security Essentials to avoid problems caused by AVG which we've seen here all along and the reason no one here recommends it since XP. To uninstall it fully, you must use the AVG uninstaller | Download tools and utilities since like an infection it is so bloated it requires a special removal tool.
