Windows wont work after using windows 7 home phone activation

    Hiya,

I am having a problem with my windows 7 home premium 64bit. I wiped my computer to try and get a new graphic card to work( never got it working, gave up and went back to my old graphic card) Since then I have had to wipe my computer a number of times, I kept having to wipe my computer since the same problem kept happening. Which is that my windows will crash and wont work after about 1-2mins after start up.

I thought it was my disk so I installed it from a usb windows installer and has been runnign fine for about 2 weeks until I was free to do the phone activation of my windows, I phoned up the activation after using my computer for a while then after I phoned and it came up genuine (like normal) I went to get a drink befor doing more work and once getting back to my computer I opened a new tab on firefox it was very slow on the internet so I clsoed my browser and tried to reopen it and but it woulnd't open windows has frozen completely so I pressed the restart button on my case and let it boot up and then it wouldn't let me do anything.

Does anyone have any idea of how come my computer seem to freeze and refuse to work once I use the windows phone activation?

What makes you think it is the activation? Did you go click on "Start Button", right click on "Computer" and left click on "Properties"? When the screen comes up scroll down to the right bottom of the screen and you should see a "Genuine Windows Logo". If it says something different then there is an activation problem.

It says it genuine, What makes me think it's activation causing the problem is that my computer was working perfectly fine and I have done nothing different except activate windows.

Let me ask a question. Before you called for the phone activation, you did a Clean Install of Windows. Did you first try inputting the Product Key that was on the sticker on your PC and got a prompt for you to call Microsoft for an Activation Number because it was not accepting yours?

I do a clean installion, put the product key in, which don't say anything about it not being valid until about a few days then the activation screen pops up which then says to call or try another product key I left this one about 2weeks before phoning up and they accept the key and saying the activation key is accept and then it seemed to crash.

I just don't think the phone activation could have anything to do with the problem although the timing would indicate that. Let me tell you how to never have to go through this again. When you get it corrected, go to Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download and make an image every week and put it on an external hard drive. You can restore your image in about 20 minutes and things will be good again. == Now to you current problem. It sounds to me it is the graphic card causing the problem. Take off the cover and make sure it and everything else is snug in the slots. You might have knocked something loose when there before.

Just a shot in the dark; do you have Windows Updates set to automatic? It may be an update that is at issue.
