using a upgrade key with anytime upgrade

I have Win7 Home Premium installed on my my machine, but is is not activated yet. I will be getting a Win7 Professional key from the student offer, and I would like to use that. Is it possible to use that key in Anytime upgrade?

Hi! Can you confirm that your Win 7 Pro key worked in the area to enter an anytime upgrade key?

    Thanks!

    Hello Jeffro,

Certainly. I had Home Premium, and purchased a Professional upgrade key from the student offer. I did not buy an Anytime key; it was a normal upgrade key. I entered it in Anytime and it worked without a hitch.

That having been said, I cannot guarantee that all results will be the same. I have not tried it on any other machine or with any other key. I am the only one I have heard with an experience here. Nobody has reported either failure or success other than me.

I gave it a shot and it worked without issue! I hope that my old Home Premium key is still valid though.

    Thanks very much!

I stumbled on this thread from google and had the same question. After reading the posts, I'm sure my upgrade key for Professional will work. I just want to make sure my existing full retail Home key will work on another computer.

    Hello,

I'd think it would work. Just so long as it's not running on more than one computer at the same time!
