    My computer keeps on restarting

    Hi,

    My computer in my office keeps on restarting and I don't know why. Sometimes it will normally open but after 20-30 minutes it will suddenly shut down and will keep on restarting over and over again. It has this blue screen that says make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. To continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware. I have tried re-installing the windows for about 5 times already but I didn't get any luck. I have also uninstalled some software on my computer. My os is windows 7 ultimate and I have 3 hard drives installed on my computer. I don't know if it has something to do with the hard drive.

    Can you attach a Dump file please.
    Also some system specs would help.

    The symptoms you describe can be caused by overheating or a power supply problem among other reasons. To check for overheating problems, you can download a free utility "Speedfan" from the following site;

    Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

    It's possible it's overheating, but I doubt it would last 30minuets, the computer will generate its heat instantly. Also the computer is restarting from an overheat It shouldn't restart. I may be wrong but follow the advice from the other post, it's a good precautionary to rule out something. Best of luck.

    There is no reason why the computer wouldn't run for a period of time before the overheating had an effect and caused it to shutdown. Additionally, one of the symptoms associated with overheating is restarting, it's item #2 in the list at the following link and there are several other articles which state the same.

    http://www.articlesbase.com/hardware...n-6578257.html

    Also, notice that item #3 mentions the BSOD.

    Of course, there can be other causes which is what I stated in my original post.

    Hi, thanks for all your replies. I tried replacing the cpu hoping that the problem is overheating but it didn't fix the problem. When my computer is on the safe mode, it will normally open and won't shut down.
