Disk management won't load
how do i fix this?
1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.
Report the output from the command window once it finishes.
1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:

2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear
3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply
i ran it, clicked continue and not responding.
also ran in safe mode, still won't load disk management + noticed that in safe mode, my external drives loaded/started fine....in normal mode they didn't.
why is windows 7 such a problematic OS?
While booted normally, have you tried first ejecting/removing all of your external drives first and then trying to run DISKMGMT.MSC? Does it now open successfully?
If that's successful, we've determined there's nothing wrong with your internal drive(s). Instead, there must be something problematic about reading the file system or computing used/free space on one or more of your external drives. So then begin plugging the external drives back in one at a time and try launching DISKMGMT.MSC each time, until you once again can't launch DISKMGMT.MSC successfully. That will point the finger of scorn at that drive as the problem.
Have you tried using some other tool to look at your drives, just to see if there might be a consensus that the problem is located on one of your internal or external drives? I'm suggesting you install and run Partition Wizard Home (free) just to see what it says about your drives, and in fact if it can even open or also has a problem.
If Partition Wizard can launch and shows all of your internal and external drives, can you please post a screenshot here so that we can see what your setup looks like. If it has a problem, please post the error message here.
dsperber: installed it, but it just won't run, freezes....i just can't find what's wrong with my system, anoying.
