That is not much info to go on...
...but here are things that come to mind:

1) The file might be read-only.

2) The file might reside in a protected folder.

3) NTFS permissions might prevent you from saving the file.

Hello Alex,

You might see if you may be able to save it to another location and/or with a different file name.

hello Brink. It would seem a logical place to save txt. would be my documents. txt for some reason will not save there. I also have my documents on k:\username\my documents. the folder on c:\ shows a whopping 10.6 giga, while on k:\ 50.5 MB.

As a test, use the tutorial below to add "Take Ownership" to your context menu.

Take Ownership Shortcut

Afterwards, right click on the folder that you are not able to save to, and click on "Take Ownership".

When finished, see if you are able to save to the folder now.

saving
I have 3 hard disks. 1 SSD and 2 regular hard disks. 1 of the three, whenever I try to save something there, it tells me that I do not have permission to save there. I am using an administrator level account, but not THE Administrator account... I'm the only person that uses this box.
