Windows slows down when highlighting multiple desktop icons

    Hello,

I've had this annoying issue since I got this pc, but then I saw an old Intel Atom + Windows XP PC that does not have this issue (maybe it's because of the Windows version ?)

The issue is that when I highlight alot of desktop icons with the mouse alltogether, the PC slows down.
It feels like it struggles to highlight multiple desktop icons.

I know it's not really a big problem, but after I saw a much weaker PC that does not have this one, I had to check if I can fix it here :)

I have an Intel i3-2120 cpu and Windows 7 32-bit

1.) Do this first: Use option 2

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    2.) Reset icon cache:

Icon Cache Size - Change in Windows

3.) To many programs running at startup causing slow pc possibly. Disable everything but antimalware software:

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Wow I forgot about this post!
I tried what you said but it didn't help, I guess it's just because there are too many icons + not so good PC spec + bad HDD?
    Or maybe I am wrong?

I doubt it has anything to do with your problem, but what buttons are missing on your keyboard?

How do you know that I have missing keyboard buttons?
