Windows slows down when highlighting multiple desktop icons

Hello,

I've had this annoying issue since I got this pc, but then I saw an old Intel Atom + Windows XP PC that does not have this issue (maybe it's because of the Windows version ?)

The issue is that when I highlight alot of desktop icons with the mouse alltogether, the PC slows down.
It feels like it struggles to highlight multiple desktop icons.

I know it's not really a big problem, but after I saw a much weaker PC that does not have this one, I had to check if I can fix it here

I have an Intel i3-2120 cpu and Windows 7 32-bit

1.) Do this first: Use option 2

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

2.) Reset icon cache:

Icon Cache Size - Change in Windows

3.) To many programs running at startup causing slow pc possibly. Disable everything but antimalware software:

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Wow I forgot about this post!
I tried what you said but it didn't help, I guess it's just because there are too many icons + not so good PC spec + bad HDD?
Or maybe I am wrong?

I doubt it has anything to do with your problem, but what buttons are missing on your keyboard?

Weird display when highlighting text in Windows/Office
I've never seen this before, and I'd like to see if anyone else has seen this. When text is highlighted to do a copy/paste, sometimes it shows some strange graphical glitches. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like.

Windows 7 logon screen, customize user highlighting
Hello, I'm looking for a possibility to change the highlighting of the users icons at the logon screen of windows 7. It's not easy to see, which user is highlighted. At the Vista logon-screen this was much easyer to perceive. The only information I can find, is how to change the background of...

Desktop Icons shift when changing Multiple displays
I occasionally Extend my displays to work off of my 65 inch HD TV. But when I shut down the TV and go to the single display on my laptop, my desktop icons will shift around. How do I get the program icons to lock in place so they don't shift around when I change back and forth from extended to...

[Multiple monitors] Desktop icons move around each restart!
Hello everyone! Not sure if this is the right forum, I had to decide between this and Customisation, but this seemed more applicable. Anyway, whenever I restart my computer, all my desktop icons move around to really weird locations. I don't have that many icons, but I'm a clean freak, so when...

Highlighting (On Desktop) Appearance Issue
Ok so, I don't know how or why or when this happened but usually when you highlight something on your desktop in Vista or 7, it highlights as a light blue square but for some reason when I highlight my desktop in Windows 7, it shows the highlighting the way Windows XP shows it, which is just a grey...

Highlighting multiple files too slow
Hi, When I want to select many files in a folder, I have to pause over each one for a while until it changes from a translucent shade to solid. This annoys the hell out of me as it slows me down when working in Windows. TBH, this was a problem in Vista as well, but I always seemed to fix it by...
