Everything on computer has been crashing and non responsive lately?

I've checked for viruses using malwarebytes and it didn't detect anything. Everything has been really slow and not responding lately. I've tried closing out all the programs and just loading the one I wanted to use and it's still really bad. My internet has also been disconnecting constantly as well. I am not sure if this relates to the problem. Even task manager will not respond.. My computer will sometimes just completely freeze up for 1-2 minutes. I have a pretty good computer too, built for gaming. It's never been like this before only recently..

My System Idle Process is 97. Perhaps my cpu isn't being used when it should be?

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 which will normally turn up the problem.

If it becomes unbootable or unresponsive then switch to Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which offers most of the same steps using boot disks or other methods.

I've tried running a full scan instead of a quick scan this time and everytime it would go to C:\hp\bin\MsOffice\homestudentr.ww\office64ww.xml Malwarebytes would stop responding and eventually my whole computer would stop responding. restarted and did this like 5 times and in safe mode with the same results.

should I delete it?

actually the reason everything stops responding and becomes slow is because my cpu randomly spikes up to like 100% when im not even doing anything? its never done this before.

If you have that file then you still have the bloated HP factory preinstalled Win7 which no tech enthusiast would run, since it's larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities that interfere with better versions built into Win7.

I would take this opportunity to do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
to go from the worst install possible to the best install possible and finally enjoy for the first time Win7 native performance.

At the minimum I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware which will get rid of the preinstalled Office bloatware (unless you bought it) and then continue with the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. But you'll never have but a fraction of the performance you'll get with the Clean Reinstall.

Can I just delete windows.old?

If you have windows.old it means you already reinstalled although you didn't delete the partitions or even format over C which is not as clean of an install, but if you're happy with the install you don't need to do it over.

When you are sure you have everything you need you can delete windows.old using Disk Cleanup.
