Windows Classic Theme: Eliminate Preview-like Taskbar Popups?

Greetings. When hovering over a taskbar item such as for an open internet browser, I get a pop-up that is ~3x the length of the taskbar button (the properties of which are set to never combine & with labels showing). At the right side of these popups there is a red X.

If I have a few Windows Explorer windows open, if I hover over one explorer item on the taskbar the popup will display all explorer items in a stacked manner (one on top of the other), again with the option to close out each item via a red X.

Is there any way to turn this feature off?

Also, when items are selected in the taskbar, the button changes to the same color as I am using for text. What window color setting (if any) do I change to alter the color active buttons display in?

I am already using the Classic theme, so the issue I am referring to is pictured as such:

In that case, you could use step 2 in OPTION FOUR of the same tutorial to effectively not have the taskbar list mode open either.

    Any ideas for this portion:

    I'm afraid I don't know for that.
