    Dynamic disks are not supported by this OS


    I have HP 630 Laptop with Windows 7 Home Basic, having HDD of 300 GB
    I have shrink the partition C to 100GB, and go for "New Simple Volume Wizard" but wizard could not completed. It showing error " Dynamic disks are not supported by this operating system or server configuration.Dynamic disks are not supported on clusters."

    Please help to resolved this issue.

    I am suffering some problem in the allocation of new partition of hard disk, as during running "New Simple Volume Wizard" it showing error " Dynamic disks are not supported by this operating system or server configuration.Dynamic disks are not supported on clusters."

    It sounds like you are being given the final warning before converting your disk to Dynamic. Do not do this. It may make Win7 unbootable.

    If you've already done so, you'll need to use the first non-destructive option in Convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk to convert it back. It requires deleting the partitions you created in excess of the allowed four primary in order to convert back to Basic.
