Windows 7: Background only on new Win7/64 installation

I resolved my problem. When I got into a position where I could try to do a Windows "Custom" Install, I was thwarted by the Windows installation disk telling me I couldn't load it on Disk 0 Partition 1 because it was configured incorrectly, same for Disk 0 Partition 2. I tried to Format the partitions, but that didn't work. So I "Deleted" the partitions, which caused them to become "Unallocated" and available for me to start the Windows installation process from the beginning.

My computer works again.

Thanks for the help.

Scott

Ok, no problem. Thank you for the additional information.

1.) Was the oem windows 7 64 bit system builder disk the one you used to install windows?

2.) You stated safe mode still produces the same results. Have you tried all safe mode options? (It should not matter, but it may be worth a try)

3.) See this tutorial here: Start at step 6. Ask any question if you need help on a step.

Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot

4.) If all of these options fail, we might have to look into a Clean Install Windows 7

We can still recover your files by either using a ubuntu live cd or using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

1. Yes, I used the OEM System Builder to install my original copy of Win7/64 Home Premium
2. No, I did not try all Safe Mode options

I'm not concerned about lost files; this is a brand new computer build, so I had no data to lose.

All is good now.

Thanks again for your help?
