Scannow detected corrupt files plus Windows Search problems
My Windows Search function stopped indexing emails a month or so ago and later stopped indexing anything. It always told me that there was some enormous number of items not yet indexed. I tried various fixes found on the Internet: running the troubleshooter (it finds nothing wrong); rebuild the index; turn off and then back on both Search and Indexing; delete the Windows.edb file (this cause problems and forced me to do a system restore. Then I tried running Scannow and it reports that it found corrupted files but was unable to fix some. It creates a log that I will attach here. I have no idea what to do about it. Windows came installed on my computer and I don't have a Windows CD. I have a recovery drive on the Asus but pressing F8 only seemed to give me an option to uninstall rather than repair. I don't want to have to go through reinstalling all my programs. The only restore point that I have that predates the problem is from a couple of years ago, and I'm afraid this might also require me to do lots of reinstallations of other things (or does it not affect other software?). Anyway, the CBS.log file is attached and any suggestions would be appreciated. When I check what the indexing status is it always says "0 items indexed" now, but claims it is indexing. I left the computer set not to sleep overnight, with nothing else running, and it still says 0 items indexed.
